Jaden's Kent DUI Case Result (City of Kent v. Jaden)
Outcome: DUI reduced to Reckless Driving with no jail.
Description: Jaden was on his way home from meeting friends at a social gathering. He was swerving in and out of his lane of travel so bad someone called 911 to report it. The Kent Police Officer saw Jaden swerve in and out of his lane of travel seven times, once almost hitting the concrete barrier on the side of the road.
Jaden failed the field sobriety tests and provided a breath sample at the Kent Police Station but the machine failed to record a result. The officer wrote him up as refusing the breath test.
Although prosecutors don't like to negotiate "refusal" cases we were able to file a bunch of motions and point out the weaknesses in the prosecutions case. They offered to reduce the charge and withdraw their earlier interest in jail time.
Jaden has returned to his life and is actively looking for a job.
